Nick Gallo From The Onion, a weekly satirical newspaper asked if I could do an illustration. The challenge was to make a factually accurate image depicting the K-T meteor extinction event which killed the dinosaurs. The tone and style of the final illustration was supposed to reflect the look of old high school text book illustrations. For inspiration I looked at Doug Wiley's Jonny Quest illustrations, as well as 70's sci-fi matte paintings by artists such as Chris Foss.
